Silver "Huguenot Rose" Cross

Legend has it, that Huguenots fleeing religious persecution arrived in the Cape of Good Hope, and brought with them grape vines and a pink Damask rose, now known as the Huguenot Rose. This handmade cross, with a rose in the center, has a lot more relief, or depth, than flat crosses. 1 1/2" tall from the top of the bail to the tip of the dove. Handmade in the US in Sterling Silver. Available in an Antique Finish or High Polish (Shown). Chain not included.

NEW! During times of persecution, Huguenots often wore their cross with a pearl instead of a dove, to symbolize a tear. This option is now available in all versions of the Huguenot Rose Cross.

Dainty but Detailed

This is a lovely small cross that has a lot of detail. It has a uniqueness about it as well as a story behind it based on Huguenot legend. The antique silver is stunning and brings out the depth of the craftsmanship. This my third cross and they are all special. Thank you.

Exquisite!

I bought the high polish cross with a pearl. I was so impressed by the level of detail on both sides of this cross - from the rose in the center to the delicate fleurs de lis worked in between the arms of the cross. Absolutely beautiful! I cherish this lovely pendant, reminding me of the faith of my Huguenot ancestors.
